When the Justice Department broke up MGM and the entire Hollywood studio system for antitrust violations, studio corporate moguls swore that would never happen again. Studio survivors then began cultivating select actors as politicians. Perhaps the most famous is B-actor Ronald Reagan, who in 1980, became President of the United States. A few other Hollywood moves were applied to the body politic, lifting Hollywood into the powerhouse it's become. Now, for better or worse, the new 'studio' system has placed the first reality TV star into the West Wing.  After this quick civics lesson, you’ll never view movies and shows in quite the same way.

We know the story of the Vietnam War but know very little about what happened after the Communists gained power.  What role did the Viet Cong now play in the new regime? Where did able-bodied men go? Why did women stop wearing nail polish, when was 'suicide soup' served, and who were the only people to attend movies?  Erin Graffy, researcher and author of award-winning history books, will bring you an eye-opening look at TET offensive, civilian life and the dramatic aftermath of the Vietnam conflict.
