Instructor Biography: Brian McNally
A native Californian, Brian began teaching at Continuing Education in 1977. His art was influenced and nurtured by his instructors at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton from 1965 to 1968. He received his bachelor’s degree in art with an emphasis in ceramics at San Diego State in 1970; was the first master’s recipient in glass-blowing at UCLA in 1972; and completed his formal education at RISD, where he held a fellowship working under glass artist Dale Chihuly, receiving his MFA in glass sculpture in 1975. Brian, along with business partner Steven Correia, operated a glass-blowing studio in Santa Monica in 1973 between graduate degrees. He returned to California in 1976 and works for clients throughout the country from his Santa Barbara studio.
