ClassGraphic Camerata Pacifica presents panel discussions in which leading scholars offer in-depth examinations of Beethoven's music, the social and philosophical influences of that time, and take a critical look at his legacy. Hosted by Camerata Artistic Director Adrian Spence participating scholars include Jan Swafford, author of the acclaimed Beethoven biography, 'Anguish and Triumph', Derek Katz, musicologist at UCSB, Andrea Moore, Professor of Music at Smith College and Richard O'Neill, Camerata Pacifica's principal violist.  Topics discussed in this presentation: Post-enlightenment/Revolutionary influences on Beethoven’s music. How radical was Beethoven's music in his time? How did his music impact that which followed?
