Instructor Biography: Karl Blasius
Karl Blasius has a lifelong interest in human biology. Recent dramatic developments in stem cell science and tissue regeneration have been an inspiration to create classes on potential improvements in our lifespan and health. Karl obtained a formal education in physics, astronomy, geology, geography, and philosophy at Michigan State University (BS)and Caltech (MS, PhD). Work experience includes planetary science research, exploration geophysics, and software and electro-optical systems engineering. He worked for the Santa Barbara Research Center (SBRC, later SBRS) for 13 years as a space sensors product manager. Recently, he has been a student of studio art, psychology, art history, health, and music at SBCC and SBCC CLL.
